Blue Stinger is the first horror survival game released for the Sega Dreamcast. Often compared to the Resident Evil games, this game amps up the tension and leaves players wondering what lies around the corner. Mutated beetles, zombies, and other monstrous creatures wander through the stages, waiting to wreak havoc and destroy you if you’re not careful. Blue Stinger Dreamcast was developed by Climax Graphics and published by Sega in Japan and Activision in North America. When the game made its way across the ocean, publishers removed the original camera style and instead used a fixed third-person view. This move received a range of responses and ratings, with some critics saying that it reduced the dramatic tension while others claimed it gave the game an edge over other horror games like Resident Evil. However you feel about it, there’s no denying that Blue Stinger for Dreamcast is a horror fan’s game. The story is set on Dinosaur Island, a piece of land that rose out of the ocean in the same place a meteorite is believed to have landed. You play Eliot Ballade, a member of the Emergency Sea Evacuation and Rescue force, who is trapped near the island when the whole place is sealed beneath a mysterious dome. You team up with Dogs Bower, one of the first people who discovered the island. With his help, you’ll explore the island, fighting off monsters and mutants as you head into town for more information. You meet several members of the community throughout your journey, including Janine King, Rats, and Dr. Jacob, all of whom provide key information for unlocking the mystery that is Dinosaur Island. Blue Stinger Dreamcast combines several gameplay elements similar to those from other action games while introducing a few new systems. When you defeat a larger monster, you gain coins, which you can spend in one of the vending machines scattered throughout the island. These machines dispense a variety of items, from healing drinks to plasma guns. With healing supplies available when you need them through these dispensing systems, you have a much better chance of surviving Dinosaur Island, though that certainly doesn’t mean that you can let down your guard and advance blindly. The vending machines also allow you to switch weapons, letting you purchase swords, rocket launchers, and shotguns, depending on the situation. The environment in Blue Stinger is fully 3D, adding another dimension to the game. The graphics are surprisingly good for games from the time period, and the monsters are designed to inspire a shock of fear, with four-armed mutants and other horrors roaming everywhere. The voice actors make the story more immersive, drawing players fully in to the narrative, while the sweeping themes give Blue Stinger more atmosphere. For fans of the survival horror genre, Blue Stinger for Sega Dreamcast systems is one of the classic games. Arm young Eliot with your choice of a long or short range weapon, brace yourself for the mutated creatures that lurk around the island, and be prepared for a nightmare as you uncover the secrets that surround Dinosaur Island.

As someone who works in logistics, they definitely have one of the better packaging styles and will assure your shipment is not damaged through the mail. Shipping costs are also very fair, especially given the tariffs and overall issues with our current market. Overall, a very solid marketplace, would definitely buy again!

    Fun, Retro game for the DC

    This is a game I played years ago, and I was interested in playing t again this last Christmas (2018) because The setting of the game was supposed to be Christmas Eve 2018. A lot of people just didn’t understand this game, and yes it could make you feel a bit seasick at times, but once you get the hang of it, it is a lot of fun. The more times you beat the game, the more modes you find, such as Mad mode, Swim mode (when the main characters are all wearing funny swim suits), and Big Eye mode (Hilarious). And I bet most haters didn’t know Doggs can do running tackles and double leg kick takedowns in his wrestling tee-shirt. The disc itself sometimes has trouble loading on the Dreamcast. I think this is typical of Blue Stinger, not the disc, as I remember having the same trouble years ago ...

    A wonderful horror game

    One of the better horror games blue stinger starts off kinda slow and has a average pace which is why it only got 4 stars, the game play and story is pretty good tho I admit to only getting about half way thru the game, I had it when it first came out and recently purchased it again. A timeless classic that brings back memories, buy this game and enjoy

    Good old fun!

    Blue Stinger is a unique title plagued by bad controls and camera angles. Fortunately its quirky dialogue and entertaining gameplay make it worth a buy.
