Though it ran for a mere 17 episodes, the British sci-fi spy drama THE PRISONER is one of television's biggest cult hits. The brainchild of star Patrick McGoohan, the series followed the adventures of No. 6 (McGoohan), a former secret agent who is being held captive in a highly secured village, the location of which remains a mystery throughout the series. This groundbreaking and innovative show reached an unfortunate end as British TV bosses got cold feet following low ratings and increasingly strange story lines. But McGoohan himself took control and steered the show to an ending that continues to cause great debate among THE PRISONER's faithful fans. This release includes the entire series of the show.

A CLASSIC AND A KEEPER
A true classic. Limited series with some of the best actors in England and excellent writing. Some Si-Fi but more mind games. Great color too. Has a sub-text of the individual being subverted by technology. Which makes it more relevant today, in a world where everyone seems connected. It holds you to the very end, which may surprise you if you pay attention, as it is very subtle. Although sets were used for many interiors, the actual village is real in Wales. This one is a keeper. Who is Number One? You are Number Six.

Most Excellent Prisoner Shows - A must have to get! :-)
This Prisoner 10 episodes are great shows to watch if you like spy mixed in with state of the art sci-fi stuff in it! I watched a few of these long time ago when I was growing up in the mid 60's when the Prisoner from the UK started showing. Actually the star Pat Mcgoonan was the highest paid actor in Europe from the UK and had "complete" control over the movie episodes which was real unusual for that time! He was sure a "genius" of his time and is great these shows are still around. You need to watch them several times to get all of the "Information" in them pun here! :-)

A great find. A great buy.
The Prisoner is an old friend from rainy Saturday afternoons. I am pleased to become reacquainted with him. (Of course he is also the Secret Agent, aka, Danger Man -- Patrick McGoohan).

CLASSIC SERIES DECADES AHEAD OF ITS TIME.
I SAW THIS IN THE LATE 1960s AND WONDERED IF IT WAS STILL GOOD. IT IS. SOME OF THE CAMERA TECHNIQUES ARE DATED, LIKE ZOOMING IN ON A SUBJECT, BUT THE SCRIPTS, ESPECIALLY IN THE FIRST TEN EPISODES ARE STILL GREAT.

A complete set of 60s sci-fi memorabilia.
I bought this as a birthday gift for my grandfather. We visited the actual production site in Port Marion, Wales. This is a piece of memorabilia hard to find and was shipped 3000 miles to make the gift happen.

Very enjoyable I’d recommend it to anyone who loves old TV series
Great classic! Very entertaining and fun to look back on what television series used to be like when everything wasn’t so plastic and sterile.

Australian shows are the best.
Well, if it was what I thought it was it’d be great. Smartly packaged up and looking good but l was looking for the prequel to the Wentworth series. I’m sure this’d be great to watch also but it’s not what l hoped for. Oh well. Haven’t watched it all yet, so I’m not one to rate it. Primo condition.

I guess I've grown up?
I watched this a loooooong time ago (1978) my veiws on what make a great show have changed, but it's still interesting. I like it for different reasons. Make up your own reasons.

Number 6 for today.
Great series. Has implications as we move into a more monitored world and freedoms are being shrunken. The special effects are not, but look past that and you have intriguing ideas around a good premise.

You have to be an extreme sci for fan to love THE PRISONER and this set is well worth it! It’s a gift gift the husband at Christmas so he’s not seen it yet but he’ll go nuts! Thank you Thank you!
