Hans was a brilliant student, who was recruited to be an SS officer. He is stationed at the Auschwitz Birkenau concentration camp and is given the responsibility of creating a new and efficient gas chamber. As he continues working, Hans begins to realise the absolute horror of what he's constructing. On The Whole Accurate to What History Tells Us. The Film Doesn't Hide the Truth; But Is Underwhelming at The End. But Completely Destroys Your Faith in Compassion and Humanity.

Embarrassingly unreal.
I have an interest in all things holocaust related , books DVDs etc, but if it's not factual it disinterests me, I ordered this movie thinking it was factual which it is not, I could not complete viewing the film as it was embarrassingly unreal, the dialogue between the female prisoner and the way she spoke to the guard who had power of life and death over her would never have taken place! I found the movie disappointing ! Ps- wouldn't have given this film a 1 star rating only I had too in order to submit my review!

Bad film
This movie was terrible from the outset. Bad acting, lots of peculiar camera angles. And was completely unrealistic. No prisoner would have ever spoken to the SS like that, and the fact that the Commandant had his son moved to his prison camp, and then keep their relationship secret made no sense at all. I thought this was going to be a gripping drama, turned out to be a load of twaddle.

A very good movie well acted a true story but harrowing about a SS Officer in AUSCHWITZ.

Overall it was a good film
The film starts with harrowing scenes of Jews cramped into cattle trucks, but some scenes were slow and not engaging. The story revolved mainly around 3 characters. Overall it was a good film but i wouldn’t rush to watch it again.

Well worth watching
This film depicts one guard of Auschwitz and the help he tries to give to the Jews but of course he was also in a dangerous situation but he was also a true nazi.
