H&R Block Is NOT the company it used to be!!!
I have used H&R Block for 20 years to do my taxes, both personal and business. This may be the last year I do so. Both last year and again this year, the installation of the software was a problem. I spent several hours trying different things, to get the Business Tax software to work. It would install, and open the first time, but after updating (as required) the software would load the opening splash screen and freeze. There is also no direct online access to support. Only an online community to self figure out what needs to be addressed to fix problems. Phone support failed completely. Very accurate and legal. I also use Turbo Tax but H &R is much more difficult to use. The program wants to think for you in place of asking questions. Been using TaxCut for over 20 years back when it was on a cassette. THIS YEARS VERSION UNABLE TO LOAD FINANCIAL DATE FROM FIDELITY. MUST ENTER ALL FROM STATEMENT. Less Expensive, less useful than TT
It certainly is less expensive than TurboTax for Business plus personal TurboTax, but I find it has less features. Business does NOT transfer last year's TurboTax business return (it does transfer information to the personal return). For a simple business return, this works satisfactorily. User friendly software.
I have never had a problem with H & R Block software. I have been using it for about 20 years. This product has the capability to do LLCs, Partnerships and non-profits, rentals and small businesses. CD does not work code does
Program would not load from CD. Had to download software with a slow dsl connection took hours., Then was able to use the key code to activate so it was valid But I wanted a cd copy to be able to load on a future machine. All-in-one Tax Program. Exceptional Value.
It's not perfect, but it's a great value for those who need to file Form 1041 (Trusts) and/or Form 1065 (Partnerships) tax returns. Much less costly than Turbo Tax Business equivalent. Oh, and I can do my own Form 1040 as well, all in one package. As if that weren't enough, it also included five free Federal E-files, and 1 free State file (paper) or State E-file for $19.95.
