    What a great eBay buying experience! The seller has excellent communication letting the buyer know when the item is shipped. Also, the shipping was extremely fast with the DVD meticulously wrapped in bubble wrap and shipped in a box that was the perfect size for the DVD (the vast majority of other sellers just mail DVDs in thin sleeves that aren’t even padded!). The DVD is brand new just as described. I highly recommend this seller & I will personally be purchasing from this seller again!

    Pirates Pirates and the even more evil government officials.

    In this series you get to examine brutality, murder, theft, torture, and then you also get to meet the pirates. Who also steal and kill, but who are not nearly as brutal and ruthless and amoral as the government officials who seek to prevent the pirates from stealing the goods the crown has stolen. The show is entertaining, with well written and developed characters, and an engaging story arc. I would recommend it for anyone with an interest in history who also does not mind a little violence in the mix.

    Black sails is the best period series based off pirates ever made.

    This series is for real and shows how it really was back then in the day. I have read many books written by historians of that period. The people behind the camera have done there home work on this one. You won't be disappointed by Black Sails unless your a girly man.

    A bit short on elegance and period feel

    Didn't like it. There is something about the modern hand-held drifty-camera and "on the nose" sort of formula British (well Australian) sort of acting/shooting that lacks the right atmosphere and "class" that I need to be convinced by something like this. The "F" word all over the place doesn't fit for me either, it plasters "modern" all over what is supposed to pass for a period piece. The costumes (of course) and settings are right, and the pirates are duly evil and filthy looking, but it doesn't fly for me. They should keep the cameras on the tripods, watch "Mutiny on the Bounty" with Hopkins/Gibson as a model, and do it again. But then I'm a picky highbrow-watching sucker so never mind.

    Well worth watching

    I bought this for my sister for Christmas and she kindly let me watch it as well. It's a lot of fun even if it does use a lot of pirate clichés as one would expect. Still, if you enjoy action and historical drama, I'd definitely recommend it to you.
