Synopsis
Essays examine the conceptual nature of racism, and trace the history of its attempts at scientific, philosophical, political, legal, and cultural expression., The contributors to this volume aim to refute the notion that racism is basically a set of irrational prejudices. Using scientific theory, philosophical reasoning and concepts of morality they examine the nature of racism conceptually and historically to reveal its diverse character as described in the body of scientific and philosophical, socio-political, legal and cultural literature. By identifying and analyzing the manifestations of racism, they attempt to facilitate and understanding of this complex subject.
