The only way I could tell it was used was by the adhesive on the sticker that held the lid shut. I was pleasantly surprised at the pens still working and looking even better than the pictures. I was also pleasantly surprised at how quickly they arrived; I expected a trip from Japan would have been much longer than a few days.
