Béla Fleck’s music has always gone beyond the definitions of a single genre, and in THROW DOWN YOUR HEART, he goes beyond the boundaries of the Western hemisphere to travel to Africa. While most think of the banjo as an American invention, Fleck--an ambassador for the instrument--journeys to Africa to reveal the true origins of the sound, as well as play with local musicians. Filmmaker Sascha Paladino makes his feature debut with this documentary, but he previously directed numerous shorts, including "Obstinato Making Music for Two," a film about Fleck and Edgar Meyer.

Just watch it with your kids,yall will love it.
The video is a mans search for the history of the banjo. Through his amazing talent with the instrument he shows us African origins and the common ground we all share in music and the world. I would say this is a must see and do it with kids so they share in the feeling of the music.
