Any Richard Thompson record is good to great. For the fan, you know that already. The classic "When the Spell is Broken" is on this CD. Some of the other songs have more keyboard synths than some care for, especially compared to his later and current work.. For the uninitiated, I recommend 1986's Daring Adventures as an introduction to his style and earlier work. But this writer is one who has all but two (I know, shame on me) of his recordings.
