No trimming to fit is necessary. The artwork has to be installed from the top or bottom just like the original case. The discs fit nice, snap in securely and don't rub each other. The plastic material isn't as thick as the original manufacturer's case but they are very sufficient and should last a very long time. The seller also included a free extra case in the shipping box.
