Great gift for a new bride or bride-to-be
Debi Pearl has created a wonderful resource for the married woman, whether newlywed or long-time wife. She writes from her 35 plus years of marriage and many years of counseling other women. The book has humor to keep it from getting too intense, because there is plenty of material that is very serious and deep. I have purchased a number of copies of the book to use in small group studies. It is a helpful guide to avoiding some common mistakes in marriage and working through difficult circumstances, as well as celebrating the good and humorous aspects of being a wife. Consistently throughout the book Mrs. Pearl brings in Bible truth to show that this is God's perfect plan for women in marriage. This book has been an amazing tool in improving my marriage. Get it!
I have not completed reading this book as of yet, but so far it has been such a blessing to my marriage. If you have been married anywhere from a month to 50 years, if you aren't married yet, everyone can learn something from this book filled with the Lord's wisdom. I wish I had had the opportunity to read this book BEFORE I got married- so that I could be a better wife from the get go, rather than have had such a steep learning curve. If you are thinking about getting this book, DO! My sister-in-law recommended it to me and I am so glad that she did! A few things you will learn: How to deal with a husbands attraction for another woman How to bring your man home at night How to get your man to help you more How to help your man accomplish his plans for the family HOW ... If we aren't happy no one is, right! One of my favorite parts so far, is how it shows the different type of men, how they react, and live life. It also spells out their expectations a bit more clearly than our man may have done for us. It was easy to pick out which type my husband is and to then acknowledge what I needed to do to improve our marriage. If you are a woman, married or not, and you want to be a good wife- or better yet the wife of your man's dreams- get this book! It will help you work to make life as we imagined it would be, BEFORE we got married!!

Neutral thoughts
I have very neutral thoughts on the overall book. As always the Pearls reference Bible passages to back up what they write. In someways it made me feel I needed to be more of a doormat for my husband and I consider myself to be a submissive wife as far as biblical standards go. This took it to a whole new level. There were other parts where I laughed and then more parts where I felt angry with the advice Debi gave to some women who have shared their stories with her. There is an amazing scripture list in the back of the book. Save your money and check it out from the local library if you really want to read it. If you find you like it, buy a used copy if you hate it, you won’t be out any money by using the library. I have very neutral thoughts on the overall book. The title is to the point and biblacaly based.
I bought the book "Created To Be His Help Meet" as a gift for my sister-n-law. A friend had given me the same book two years ago and I believe strongly that its contents helped to save my marriage. It is packed full of Godly wisdom from the Bible. Younger women need sound teaching from older women on how to love their husbands and this book more than meets that need. Debi Pearl does a great job of breaking down the challenges we face as wives and human beings, the temptations in our flesh that can help destroy a marriage and then points to the path that can lead not only to strong marriages but also more God honoring lives. After 25 years of marriage, this changed our lives...
Our marriage has been an emotional roller coaster for 25 years. We were ready to end it. He actually left. I read this book and started to work on ME! He came back on the weekend for something. I wrote him a short note on what I was learning in this book, apologizing, and wanting to start over. His heart softened as soon as he read the letter and he reluctantly came home not quite sure what to expect. I decided it was time to concentrate on me and really be the wife I should be. That made all the difference in the world. The Lord is changing him too. All the arguing and finger pointing is gone. Respect, honor and desiring to be the best possible wife I can be has completely changed both of us. He was open to listening to the Men Only CD by Michael Pearl and then we watched the ... If you asked your children, if your home is happy and their is love between mommy and daddy and they say NO, read and do this book. If you know in your heart your marriage needs help, read this book. If you know of someone who is getting married, give them this book and the DVD Marrige God's Way to both. It is never too late.
