    It arrived in just a few days, shipped from a fulfillment center in California. I wanted to try astrophotography without commiting a large sum of money, so I picked this camera when it went on sale. I'm very pleased with the results. I used it with my 8" SCT and got some really good images right away. I used Sharpcap, the recommended software (free), and quickly got some usable files. Then I used Autostakkert (also free) to improve the image quality. It's a good value for the money.

    Excellent value for money

    This appears to be a high quality CMOS imaging device. The package included the imaging sensor, cable (USB to camera), cleaning cloth and instructions. I was able to test it out in daylight with my telescope and it seems to work well along with the SharpCap 3.2 software which you will need to download yourself (it’s free). Will now need to try it on a clear night. I’ll update after I’ve done some night photos. Updated now with some quick photos I took last night. The telescope I have is a Tasco 4.5" reflector which is far from the best, so probably not the best it can do. I'm still trying to understand the SharpCap software. No post processing except for very slight adjustments using IrfanView (a free photo editor). Honestly, this is not a bad imager at all. Very happy with it.

    First time

    I am an amateur so I think just stating that the camera hooked up to my computer and came on. I was able to see functionality of unit so I know it works. I will be putting on telescope during next good viewing time and see if I can get focused for a picture or two.

    Great way to try planetary imaging.

    As with anything new there is a learning curve to getting great images with any camera. You will need to use both USB plugs to get the proper amperage to power the camera. Download Sharpcap from the internet and view a few YouTube videos about the camera, SV 105 and Sharpcap and your on your way. With any camera, the best time to image a planet is when it is at its highest in the sky and it is a cloudless night. If you find that imaging planets isn’t your thing, you haven’t spent much to have learned this truth.

    Nice starter camera, does pretty good, no issues getting it running.

    Good starter camera for those just starting out. Got a few images, not bad but still learning a lot using this camera and the software so should get better images. Would recommend it for those starting out.

    Good value but limited flexibility

    Easy to use showing people bright objects like the moon on a computer screen. Images are sharper than expected for the number of pixels and price.. Wish it could do longer exposure to show a few brighter nebula.
