The Oxford Picture Dictionary, in monolingual and bilingual editions, contains illustrations of over 3500 words. Based on extensive research, the dictionary includes 140 essential topics arranged into 12 thematic units, and aims to meet the language needs of beginning and intermediate, young adult and adult learners of American English. A teacher's book contains teaching tips, lesson plans and vocabulary practice activities. An accompanying Focused Listening Cassette provides hours of listening practice, seeking to demonstrate the vocabulary in interesting and stimulating ways., The dictionary provides 168 pages of dynamic, detailed color scenes and individual illustrations clearly depicting over 3,700 words. Twelve thematically-grouped units cover vocabulary which students can use at home, in the workplace, in the community, and in their academic studies. 140 key topics correspond to the curriculum of beginning and intermediate level coursework. Exercises, related vocabulary, and grammar points are all included on the page. Numerous verbs and adjectivesare presented in phrases which provide additional contexts for vocabulary and demonstrate realistic language. There is a complete index with Pronunciation Guide, Geographical Index, and Verb Guide. A Cassette features clear pronunciation of all the vocabulary items in the dictionary. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate.

Both discs were in great shape as well as their jewel cases. Delivery is good, packaging is simple but effective for what you're paying and I haven't had any get damaged. Will keep buying from this vendor because of the results so far and good prices, too.
