    Decent keyboard, fingerprint reader not very reliable

    The keyboard is amazingly good given its "thickness" (or rather thin-ness). The Pro 4 variant now also has an insert key (which was for some strange reason missing in the prior Pro 3 version and hindered or complicated the use of certain programs). The touchpad is also bigger and better than the previous version. Unfortunately the fingerprint reader even after several "training rounds" is still not very reliable. In about 50% of my attempts to login using fingerprint it fails several times claiming that it could not recognize the finger and asking that one should clean the sensor (which is of course always perfectly clean... ||-( ) and after the 3rd failed attempt the process locks up and then one has to key in the password or a PIN that one has chosen during the setup.

    Great Type Cover

    I love the new type cover. I use it with my Surface Pro 3 and it works great. I really like the quick sign in with the fingerprint ID. The keys are spaced more like a regular keyboard and work really well. I liked the type cover 3 but this one is a great step up. I use it every day and have had no problems. The trackpad is also a great improvement. It is larger and the surface is much better than the old type covers trackpad.

    Perfect Addition to a Surface Pro 3!

    Looked around to see if the new keyboard/cover for the Surface Pro 4 was compatible with the 3. Found a Microsoft Store write-up that mentioned it worked perfectly with both 3 and 4. So I went budget searching for a new one at a discounted price. Found it, bought it, and love it! The convenience of a fingerprint reader on your laptop or tablet can't be praised enough. So, my Surface Pro 3 screen is protected by the cover, the keyboard and touchpad let me do email and eBay auctions on the fly, love the backlighting of the keyboard, and the convenience of the fingerprint reader/sensor.

    Great Product

    Nice tactical feel, love the back lighting - \\ Apple keyboard don’t even offer that \\ fingerprint ID saves multiple inputs

    Replacement ++

    Still a must have for the Surface. This is a replacement for the original I purchased, and I expect that it will wear out in about the same amount of time, but I don't know if I could really go without one. The fingerprint reader is an upgrade worth getting.
