I had a cooler strapped on behind the backrest . The cooler eliminated the spongy feeling. I removed the rest for around home rides. On the other hand the saddle bag guards were 7/8" not 1" as stated and on e guard holes did not line up. I had to give a positive feedback back because the seller refunded my purchase.
