Essential inexpensive 50mm.
This light inexpensive lens is the only 50 you will need for film or full frame digital Nikon SLR. It's sharper than the f1.4 version and less than half the price. It will only auto focus on cameras with the mechanical coupling in the lens mount however. It will also work on Nikon Z with the FTZ adaptor, but again it won't autofocus. Just get a secondhand D600 or F(80, 75, 100 etc.), put this lens on it and go out and get great photos!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Nikon 50mm f/1.8 D AF lens
This lens is now superseded by a newer version that's a least twice the price, this lens is a prime lens for the Nikon FX full frame cameras its newer version has all whistles and bells added but it still can't beat this lens on sharpness and quality, will work in autofocus on all Nikon camera with a motorised body. Nikon fixed focal length 50mm
This is confirmed as a genuine Nikon lens by my local camera dealer, but does not come with any warranty as sourced outside Europe. With my D5500 there is manual focus only and the fit to the camera body is not totally flush. However, once you get the hang of manual focus again the images are very sharp and the lens is very lightweight and compact, so this is an excellent addition to the kit bag.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Fabulous value
I bought this for my partner. I have the newer version of this lens and I can honestly say that this 'D' version is every bit as good as the newer one. Make sure though that you have a focusing motor in your camera because the lens doesn't have one. It will not autofocus on such as the D3xxx or the D5xxx series. Cheap and cheerful.

So sharp AND bokeh!!!
Being new to photography I have been using kit lenses, mainly the 18-55. So glad I got this prime lens, the images are much sharper, the auto focus (d7000) is very fast and reliable. I am already seeing a huge improvement in my photos and knowing exactly what the lens will do allows me to spend more effort on actual composition. Lots of light
I needed a prime lens and this one with aperture of 1.8 fits the bill. It can let in more light therefore can use faster shutter speed to get the shot I want. Image nice and sharp with the background blurred out. Just one of the shots I can now do.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Must have lens
Every review says pretty much the same thing you should have one I do and can honestly say I now know why this is without doubt one of the best lenses I have ever bought it focuses quickly and the pictures it produces are fantastic sharp as a tack performing way better than lenses way more expensive I managed to pick one up for a little under £50 and think it's the best bargain I have in my kit bag I cannot praise this lens highly enough it is simply FANTASTICBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

A little gem
What can you say, these are cheap as chips, feel well built considering they are pretty much all plastic and give excellent images. Bokeh is fine and the AF is fast enough for most people but is a tad noisy. F1.8 is a bit soft as expected, by 2.8 things are sharpening up nicely and at f8/11 they are excellent. Overall for around £50.00 each these really are great value, a nice little nifty fifty and far cheaper than its replacement version. Lightweight, sharp, and good value.
This produces some very good quality sharp images but from f2.8 onwards. It is noticeably soft wide open at f1.8. It is lightweight, compact and good value but does't have the quality feel of other AF D lenses.
