    Great Radio, Inadequate Manual

    This is an excellent radio with good sound, high sensitivity, and a broad range of bands and features including single sideband and even air band. The tower at my local airport about 10 miles away comes in clearly. The radio’s main shortcoming isn’t the radio itself but its too-basic manual. For instance, it gives no detail about using memory pages, just that there is a page selection button and how to store a memory. Someone has put a detailed explanation of the XHData’s page memory system on YouTube, but its absence from the manual is unfortunate.

    Great radio, complicated to use.

    The radio is complicated to use, Too many multi-use buttons. The instructions do not explain how to access the second use of a button. For instance the am band is set on 9mhz, there is a button to change to 10mhz, but all the instructions say is activate the button. It does not say how to activate it. If you accidentally press the page button and then a preset button there is no instruction on how to get back to your low digit preset buttons.

    XHDATA D-808‽ Nice little radio.

    Like this radio so far. It is easy to operate. Just have to be patient when tuning since this is however is a DSP radio. Tuning slowly across the band to find those weak signals you get the step tuning and mute audio. The orange back light is much better then the earlier ones that used the white back light for the display. They look more washed out. Sounds good and light weight. I have other radios like the Tecsun pl880. Grundig Satilite 750. Degen DE-1103. All these radios have there own personalities to them. I like them all. But my fave is my Grundig Satilite 750. Buy the XHDATA D-808. You will indeed have fun with it.

    HXDATA D808 is a fine multi band receiver. Rivels some of the best.

    I wanted a top line MULTIBAND RECEIVER. This radio can keep up with some of the best. FM excellent reception and sound AM excellent reception, good sound, and long range without an external antenna. SW picks up stations all over the world at night. Using the radios antenna. LW, SSB, not using at this time. The antenna SW FM antenna can work lose. I replaced their screw at the base of the antenna with a smaller diameter screw (the same length)that can be held in place with a nut and lock washer at the base of the antenna. Problem solved. This might not happen to all HXDATA D808's.

    Very good reception! Great receiver

    Very nice radio. Extra sensitive reception on AM and all the bands. Haven’t heard anything on Long Wave yet. But I don’t think there is much there. I pick up a surprising amount on short wave even on the built-in antenna. The added plug-in antenna is even better. Even low down in the band. Love hearing the ham operators on 80 meters on side band and cb’ers as well. Big sound on a small rig.
