Pretty and petite
This guitar plays so well and it's just nice to look at. The smaller size makes it more portable than a full dreadnought, though the low end doesn't come through as much when playing straight acoustic. Could always plug it in and tweek the EQ for a fuller sound of course, and I like the crisp mids and highs anyway. Electronics work well, sounds nice through an amp (needs a 9v battery). Taylor blows all other 3/4 size guitars away!
The Taylor Mini GS Mini-e Koa is the absolute pinnacle of less than full-size guitars, and even among full size guitars, it ranks in the top percentile! Its tone, its resonance and its bright yet booming voice belie its size completely. Though it’s not the most expensive guitar in my collection, and though it’s the smallest guitar in my collection, its overall performance, quality and even store of value each rank it #1 Because im a complete audiophile when it comes to guitars, I considered the GS Mini-e Koa “Plus” but when I played them, several of them, I found ZERO detectable difference, aside from the higher price tag. The tone and voice and resonance of the Koa compared to the other woods however, was clearly noticeable, and was more than worth the upgrade and price difference. The perfect size for me!
I can wrap myself up on the couch around this guitar and it fits me just as perfect as can be, I'm a petite lady and always felt a bit tiny up next to my guitar..this replaced a 30 year old Ovation Celebrity (a big step up, yep). It sounds wonderful (I watched a whole bunch of you-tubes demo-ing this box) The wood is aromatic as well :) Perhaps I'd go for a pick guard (because I know eventually I'll scratch that wood) is about the only thing I'd be akin to having for an option on the guitar.
