Authentic.
Years ago I read two books based on diaries, journals, letters and newspaper accounts of crossing the US in the 1800's. This movie is not based on a specific occurrence but does accurately reflect what women went through. There were advertisements for women who wanted to be wives for men they had never met. Men who had moved West with cattle and horses and now wanted to "settle down". Very entertaining.

Westward Ho!
Although a wagon train made up almost entirely of women is hard to believe this movie makes it seem possible. All the actors and actresses in this movie were trained to handle horses and mules, drive big wagons, to ride horses, and to shoot. If you are interested in the Oregon Trail, you will enjoy this movie

Fun movie time night for the family.
This old movie bring back good old cowboy movies. The family will enjoy on family movie night at the backyard movie night.

The way it was
This has been one of my favorite movies for over 20 years. It depicts the pioneer experience with more realism than most movies of that era and a subject matter I’ve not seen before. Highly recommend.

Westward the Women
Saw this when I was a teenager and loved it. Not your typical western, because it’s the Women who star, front and center, in this film. And that’s what makes this movie stand out above the others. Gives a good idea of what it may have been like on a wagon train going west to California. Robert Taylor gives one of his best performances. Hope Emerson is her usual excellent self, and not to be overlooked, as are all the strong women in this movie.

I’m a stand for size the fact that if you are going to purchase a DVD please do it within the allotted time for the warranty we have never had a DVD that has been faulty but we kept this DVD too long before we watched it and it skipped through out even though it was brand-new but it is our fault no one else’s but just a warning for all others in the future please watch your DVD during the grace period for returning Faulty product

Disappointed
I watched this movie when I was a kid and it made a huge impression on me. But this DVD got to a very pivotal part and started to skip and be pixelated. My purchase was refunded after returning to DVD but I still am wanting to watch the whole movie!!
