These adventures blend very well in the Forgotten Realms setting and the characters are as engaging now as they were in the beginning. You'll love it.
These are the books that started my D&D journey although I had been playing for about four years before a friend showed me these books. As I played Dungeons and Dragons I really didn't understand the way it moved until Bob introduced me to his world. I started reading these books in 1991 and have been reading the series ever since as a matter of fact I'm reading his newest book Boundless right now. Bob Salvatore is by far my favorite author and his Drizzt books are enduring and exciting with great fights that really move the story. A real pleasure to read because you're not just reading the adventure you're living it. So if you've never read any of Salvatore's books it's not too late to start. But I do recommend that you start here at the beginning with this trilogy and continue in order. From there let your imagination guide you but watch out for Jaraxle he's crafty and very tricky.
