Entertaining, wholesome show!
I've loved the Walton's since I was a child. Now I can watch any episode plus all the movies any time I want! I'm sure there are many episodes I've missed. Now I can catch up on all of them. I wish there were quality shows like this out nowadays. Some of the online pre-filled information on Ebay and other sites is contradictory as to the number of disks. There are 45 total by my count.

Wholesome, inspiring family entertainment
In an age (2023) when so many modern shows have corrupt values, this 1972-1981 TV series portrays a loving family of two grandparents, two parents, four boys, and three girls. It starts out during the Depression in a rural community in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The family harvests and sells wood products for a living. The main character is John Boy, the oldest child, who starts the series around the age of 16. He narrates it as an adult sometime in the future. Per IMDb, this TV series is rated 7.6 out of 10 stars, has 212 episodes, and is rated TV-G. The episodes I’ve seen so far are 50 minutes long. I've only seen one and a half seasons, so I can’t predict future seasons. In contrast to most TV series, each episode is standalone and is usually unrelated to other episodes. Typically, traveling outsiders pass through the area and meet the Walton family. The strangers and the Waltons learn new lessons from the encounters. I wish the episodes were more interconnected, but that would have made scriptwriting more complex. I also wish that all the seasons had English and Spanish subtitles. The early seasons only have them in French. I think later seasons on the DVD set add English subtitles. Among the main characters, grandpa is funny and a bit silly; grandma grumps a lot; the parents mentor their kids through wise, patient teaching and living; John Boy has integrity, honesty, and compassion, and he enjoys writing; and the younger children's characters are still being developed half way through season two. Occasionally one of them comes into focus. I wish they played bigger roles. Maybe that will happen in future seasons. There is no violence whatsoever so far, except for John Boy’s occasional minor scuffles with someone who insults the family; no sex or nudity; and only occasional, mildly bad language. Normal conflicts and complaining arise among the children. The older generations love each other, and the older kids occasionally have romantic encounters, but not much of that has developed yet. The three main characters - the parents and John Boy - are inspiring, and they act their roles realistically, especially John Boy. I whole heartedly recommend the part of this series that I've already watched, the first one and a half seasons. I anticipate many more good seasons to come.

Refreshing to watch !!
I loved The Walton's years ago when they were on TV. I could hardly wait for the next episode. Having all the Season's at my fingertips and being able to watch as many episodes at once as I want to is really nice. This program is so refreshing to watch. They treat each other decently and there is a great moral to the story each time. Fantastic programming for children and people of all ages. So pleased with myself for ordering this. It was a real treat to have the six movies included. The packaging that it came it was adequate and I found them safe. Some of the Discs had fallen a little loose in their individual packages, but nothing was broken or scratched. I found the film to be sharp and well restored. I haven't viewed all the discs yet, but so far everything is perfect. I very strongly recommend this product.

Visiting Simpler Times
There's a lot of warnings on this set of DVDs about some of the discs not playing. I spent two and a half hours making sure all of them had access to all areas of the desk so they are fine. I suggest everyone who buys a new set to do the same thing. With that said, I've been told him a little strange for loving the Waltons so much. I don't know what's so strange about enjoying stories of a simpler time, with people that show genuine character and compassion. Who wouldn't want to Grandpa like Grandpa? Who wouldn't want to do the right thing like John Boy? While I enjoy some of today's TV shows, there's something to be said for classics. This is one of them shows that make you feel good after almost every episode. The quality is not up to Modern standards, as the sound on some episodes is great, but others is muffled somewhat. The picture is not high definition, but I'm sure it matches the capabilities of TV back in the 70s. Maybe it adds to the experience...

The Waltons
The set was brand new as described.The DVDs play perfectly,and the Walton's is a absolutely wonderful show about love and the importance of family and being grateful.

An amazing collection in excellent condition!
The Waltons is a show for the ages; filmed in the 70's, it depicts the life of rural America during the depression and the following years. The show itself won several Emmy's, and it's chock-full of traditional values and everyday themes of family life. The quality of the set seems very nice; packaged well with no obvious issues. I've not watched all of the discs yet, so cannot say for sure there are no problems at all, but it seems intact and I'm very pleased with it!

Good Family Entertainment!
Always liked this show so this is a great deal, all the seaons and 6 movies! A clean family show about a real family surviving hard times and remembering good times. They don't make shows like this anymore!

What a treasure.
I have to admit I was a little nervous about what the quality of the video would be, but I’m delighted to say I’m very pleased. Like stepping back in time and watching the Waltons all over again as a young adult. Love the narration and the good feel this program always gave me. Thank you. I will treasure this.

The Waltons treasured memories of my youth..
When I was a small boy growing up in the 70’s this was one of my family favorite shows on tv.. As an adult it still a wonderful made television show and I love watching every single episode again..
