Terrific Seller, he was responsive, clear, and communicative. The product was as described, and well packaged. My only caution is that he doesn't ship until 10 days after payment, which may be tied to Japanese postal operation; not clear on that. So be aware if you need the item immediately. Really good seller, I contacted them with some inquiries and they replied the next day. Bought the 25th of July, shipped the 5th of August and arrived the 12th (Japan - mainland Europe). The seller contacts you post purchase with additional shipping information and warns that it takes 10 business day for shipping. Package arrived safely but the original box got damaged, although I do not mind since the figure was perfectly fine. The figure is brand new, as described. 100% recommend!

An Awesome Affordable Overdrive
The Soul Food from Electro Harmonix is a killer sounding overdrive. At higher gain levels with lower volumes it can help you get a nice colored tone that also works great to cut through a mix really well. On the other hand, when it's used with the volume past twelve o' clock and the drive really low it can really push your amp to break it up more, giving you natural tube overdrive. I love it!

Best *Affordable* Overdrive (IMHO)
Great sound. I use the Overdrive range much more than the Distortion range. Makes my old Princeton sound a little meaner, but without the buzzy distortion that a lot of overdrive pedals have (at least the ones I've heard and can afford). I leave it ON just about all the time, tweaking the Drive knob as-needed. Just bought another one, for my son. We both like these a little more than my old faithful Tube Screamer. Only one caveat: (with mine, anyway) if the switch inside the box is set to 'true'--which is true bypass (which is a good thing)--there is sometimes a big 'pop' when you stomp the pedal on (which might be hard on the speakers). But, IF yours does that, and you don't want that 'pop' (I didn't), then you can simply switch that switch to the 'buffer' setting...and the pop is gone ... Great sound. I use the Overdrive range much more than the Distortion range. Great as a transparent boost in front of a dirty tube amp !!! Dial up the volume to hit V1 with a hotter signal then bring in just a touch of gain It's like having a volume knob on your guitar that goes to 11 !!! Not the greatest dirt tones, but not bad either ... Tone control lacks a ton of range, but works well enough ... Comes with the AC adapter which is very cool Hard to beat for the price !!!Great as a transparent boost in front of a dirty tube amp !!! The clean OD I've been looking for!
excellent clean overdrive, plenty of headroom, it does very well in keeping the note definition while cranking up the gain, does sound very natural (unlike other OD pedals I've used). I use this in my signal chain right after my morning glory pedal and it sings beautifully! it also pairs up very nicely with a boost pedal right before it in the signal chain. highly recommended!

The soul food is an excellent transparent boost. It has a very warm tube-like sound if you keep the drive knob low. It is an excellent pedal to run after an overdrive or fuzz to fill in some mid and low end. However, I personally think the higher drive settings sound a bit thin; I almost never roll mine past the 12 o-clock position. I would not recommend this pedal as a stand-alone overdrive, but this is a great boost pedal for a tone nut. I love it for blues tones.
