Folks living it up before the War began

First rate cast, first rate story, terrifically fun film.

MORE THAN JUST A "CHICK FLICK!''
I'm a novelist, and no great fan of movies, actually. But this one was so wonderful I watched three times. The people in it are engaging, and Frances Macdormand is believable and loveable. Her transition from mousey nanny to a feigned take-charge "social secretary" is marvelous, especially when she picks up a cigar butt and lights it up. She's matched by everyone else in the film ... a brilliant ensemble cast. Screenplay, direction, acting, costuming, set decor, and 1930's British cars are all over-the-top great. I wish there were more movies like this out there. Unfortunately the majority of flicks today are comic book adaptions or macho fantasy nonsense.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
