It’s great that these kits are still available, I bought an older version of it at a great price. I have not yet built it but it is historically important especially since WW2 when they were used in the Pacific and in Europe for beach invasion. They could carry troops, vehicles and supplies for an armed force attacking a beach, the much older ones I believe did not have a rear opening door/ramp, the troops climbed over the sides. They were propelled by the tracks, while the tracks were narrow they were designed to catch water in the cleats and swim their way to shore and back. They could be used at sea or for crossing rivers, anywhere they were needed to go to cross water. My collection of model vehicles includes the beach invasion and amphibious vehicles of WaW2.
