SynopsisWhat is authentic faith? The Gospel According to Jesus challenges Christians to re-evaluate their commitment to Christ by examining their fruits. MacArthur asks, What does it really mean to be saved? He urges readers to understand that their conversion was more than a mere point in time, that, by definition, it includes a lifetime of obedience. John MacArthur tackles the error of easy-believism by addressing these questions: Is it possible to accept Jesus as Savior while refusing him as Lord? Can someone truly believe without actually repenting? How do obedience, commitment to Christ, and turning from sin fit together with the truth that we are saved by grace through faith alone? The Gospel According to Jesus is just as powerful today as it was more than two decades ago. It is a Scripture-based clarion call for a rejection of the watered-down message that has gained popularity in the church and a return to the gospel Jesus preached. This 20th anniversary edition adds a powerful new chapter to the complete text of the original classic, reinforcing the book's timeless message--that Jesus demands to be both Savior and Lord to all who believe. This book is compulsory reading for Christians from all walks of life and will help guide you into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ., What is authentic faith? This book is a must read for anyone who has a desire for a real commentary on the Gospel the way it was written and not a distorted, watered down view. Great for curious, beginning followers of Christ, pastors or just someone who wants to know more.

  • Truth about Paul

John MacArthur is one of the few pastors who makes the Bible understandable yet sticks to a strict interpretation. He does not read into the Bible. This book about Paul is one you won’t want to turn away from. Well done

  • Find some gospel truth

Different and to the point, Will make you think a lot about what the Bible says about Christian Living. Plus what all did Jesus have to say about Salvation. Yes saving grace is free. But what is being told to many congregations in todays world from the Preachers. Makes it clear that after Grace there has to be some fruit from the tree, such as works to bring others to salvation. No being good will not save you, it is not of works. But you do need to live it and show it to others, Jesus said you become a new birth, new creature, and to have the Holy Spirit.

  • Much needed clarification provided about the impact of our Salvation

MacArthur doesn't mince words as he relates what Jesus says about His role in our salvation and our ongoing role in recognizing His Lordship if we truly claim Him as our Savior. Great read, Bible based, succinct, taking on the critics who would lessen the necessity of our understanding what Jesus role is as "Lord" and what this must mean for a believer.

  • Serious but Easy to Read Study of Salvation in Christ as LORD

What does the Bible teach about How to be Saved from our sins and How did Jesus preach the message that He is the Only Way to Heaven and How those who hear His Message must meet His requirements to be forgiven and go to heaven. Bottom Line: The Gospel is the Good News that Jesus Christ is the Way to heaven BUT the Gospel Demands Repentance and a Changed Lifestyle in Behavior if it is Genuine Salvation; Jesus Christ is NOT ONLY Savior but LORD, a sinner must Submit to the Lordship of Jesus to be saved. Turning from sin and Obeying God's Word is all part of Jesus being Lord and Savior. (Some church teach that all you got to do is believe in your head that Jesus will save you, but you can continue to live in your sin. That is a FALSE message). Repentance from sin and a Love to Obey God go hand and hand.
