"This is a book that students will want to keep in their files or on their bookshelves as a reference for years to come." --Lynn C Robertson, Department of Psychology and Vision Sciences, University of California, Berkeley

Synopsis
Designed for introductory statistics courses, the book familiarizes students with the statistical procedures most commonly encountered in the literature, and used in experimental and correlational research. Both calculating by hand and through the use of computer software are examined, giving students a deeper understanding of the application of statistical analyses., Introduction to Quantitative Statistical Analyses is designed for beginning statistics courses that focus on the statistical procedures commonly used in experimental and correlational research. Following an approach taken by Keppel and his associates, the text seeks to familiarize students with the statistical tests most often encountered in the literature. Doing calculations by hand is important for understanding statistical operations, while using computer software (e.g., SPSS) is important for future statistical work. This text emphasizes both approaches, helping students develop a deeper understanding of the application of statistical analyses. The book also explores some limitations of the null-hypothesis approach, which dominates traditional statistical analyses of psychology experiments. This is done by introducing procedures for estimating effect size and power, as well as introducing confidence intervals as a more informative test of the difference between two means. Analytical comparisons are detailed throughout the book to emphasize the importance of gaining as much information as possible from one's data. Introduction to Quantitative Statistical Analyses delivers a representative and readable account of statistical procedures commonly described in journal articles. This is an ideal text for students preparing for advanced psychology classes and other social science courses that use readings with complex statistical analysis., Introduction to Quantitative Statistical Analyses is designed for beginning statistics courses that focus on the statistical procedures commonly used in experimental and correlational research. This is an ideal text for students preparing for advanced psychology classes and other social science courses that use readings with complex statistical analysis. William P. Wallace (Ph.D., Northwestern University), Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Nevada, Reno, has taught undergraduate and graduate statistics courses for over 30 years. His primary research interest involves experimental studies of human memory, which is the focus of the majority of the journal articles he has authored. Jill A. Yamashita (Ph.D., University of Nevada, Reno), Assistant Professor at California State University, Monterey Bay, is a cognitive psychologist with research interests and published journal articles in both false memory and face perception (the malleability of human memory and processes in face recognition and discrimination). For the past several years, her teaching responsibilities have included an advanced statistics course.

- 8***g (252)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufA smooth and professional transaction throughout. The item was exactly as described, clearly listed, and fairly priced. Communication from the seller was prompt, polite, and helpful, with dispatch confirmed quickly. The parcel was securely packaged and arrived in excellent condition, ahead of the expected delivery date. Care was taken at every stage of the process. I would be happy to buy from this seller again—many thanks for a reliable and well-handled sale.FINLAND AND EUROPE: INTERNATIONAL CRISES IN THE PERIOD OF By Juhani Paasivirta (Nr. 335694307643)
- a***2 (13)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufItem was shipped quickly and packaged well. Item was exactly as described, brand new and it was even sealed. The seller also messaged me as soon as the purchase went through so communication was great. This was the last book in the series that I needed and to be able to find it in such great condition and at a great cost was unexpected. Highly recommend this seller and will definitely buy from again in the future.MARTIN THE WARRIOR (REDWALL) By Brian Jacques - Hardcover **BRAND NEW** (Nr. 187149385105)
- t***s (44)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufThe Item itself I rate five stars. The seller, however, I stop at four stars. The seller met two out of three categories I look for when judging my purchasing experience: how well it was packaged, how quickly it was shipped, and how properly it was described; this seller provided prompt shipping and an accurate description, but failed when it came to packaging. The item arrived in a plastic bag without any reinforcement or protection whatsoever and suffered dinged corners on multiple fronts.
