more than i'd bargained for
i thought tony hillerman's brother's photographs of the special places tony wrote about would be interesting to have. what i didn't know when i ordered it was that there would be an extensive and enlightening narrative by tony about the places in his brother's photos. very cool to have especially if you're planning to travel the byways of nm and az.

The title can only be rivaled by Tony's book "A Thief of Time"
I have been to most of these places with my best friend, and the pictures are memories for me. She is gone now so I only have pictures and this book, plus the mysteries of Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn. I haven't seen one special picture yet and will get there. My friend was one of the few that would brave the road into it.

Beautiful book!
I'm a Tony Hillerman fan and it is a treat to see beautiful photos of the setting for his books! So glad I discovered this!
