Religion vs Slavery
An excellent, moving drama about the Spanish and Portuguese colonization of eastern South America and the Jesuits who Christianized many of the indigenous peoples, taught them several marketable skills as well as agriculture on plantations. The Guarani tribe was the Jesuits' primary focus in this effort. The Jesuits protected and defend the indigenous from the colonizer's efforts to enslave them. Their efforts ended tragically.
