Accurate, easy shifting
I put these bar end shifters on my wife's road bike. Because of her arthritic hands, she can't use STI or other brifters. The rear is indexed and the front is friction, which in my opinion works better than the STI for her triple chain rings. I also have bar end shifters on my touring bike and have used them on TT bikes as well. They are a bargain compared to other types and Dura Ace is top Quality.

Light. Durable. Reliable.
I've put a couple hundred of the hardest most unforgiving gravel miles in using this shifter set. It has performed flawlessly. When you are 60 miles from anywhere on a gravel road somewhere in the midwest in below-freezing weather, you don't want to worry about mechanical complications with your shift levers. With these levers, you won't have to. They are utterly reliable and extremely engineered. These shfiters the most reliable shift solution from Shimano. They have true Dura Ace level engineering and shift quality. I got all of that at the most reasonable Shimano price point on the market. It's hard to beat that value proposition.
