On June 3rd, 2009, Brian Culberston and a small army of well respected musicians in the Smooth Jazz community, descended upon the legendary Capitol Studios in Hollywood to film and record a Live career retrospect of well loved tunes from his GRP and other labels' catalogs. The resulting session is presented in full on a DVD directed by filmmaker Joey Castro and on a CD with 12 of the songs they performed including the brand new song 'Go'. Live from the Inside is a must have for all of Culbertson's dedicated fans.

Music: good; Video production: not so good
This is a typical Brian Culbertson CD. I like his music because I'm use to what he puts out. I didn't find the DD that interesting. It's shot in a studio without the benefit of a live audience being able to react to the performance (live "concert" performances have always been of primary interest to me as you get more of a "feeling" for the performers when responding to a live audience), so the video is unnecessary as the DVD is done as a studio CD. While I appreciate seeing the musicians perform, the editing is way too quick and the cutting/editing and shots aren't really that interesting as they are done in a small area. While I enjoy the music and performances of each individual artist, I am not much impressed with the DVD. While the quality of the video (production values) is good, the "live action and quick cuts/edits" (timing) I believe, were really off at times. . .too many times.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Brian Culbertson, Master Performer, Live from the Inside.
This DVD is, in my opinion, is one of the best DVD's ever produced. It contains all the popular songs by Brian Culbertson. Bringing in all the different performers to do different songs is a trade mark of Brian's. Then to do a ".Live" concert without an audience is brilliant.
