Road to recovery
By the grace of GOD 35 years sober... Of all the AA literature the most practical, easy read , my favorite chapter hands down is using the serenity prayer... Wisdom of GOD is what is needed most in staying sober and living life on life's terms. We will never know GOD until we need him, pain is a great motivator, in brokenness comes blessing... Don't be so concerned interpretation be more concerned about application! Any fool can learn from his mistakes BUT it takes a wise man to learn from the mistakes of others. Small book with powerful chapters.
I am getting ready to host a men's retreat and wanted to purchase these books as a give away at the end of the weekend. There is an excellent chapter devoted to anger and resentment that we will have a workshop on and the books will be available to take home for anyone that wants too. Changing Thoughts and Actions
Anyone can GET sober----cold turkey, in a canvas jacket with wrap around sleeves or the nice way in a rehab with tranquilizers to taper off....The REAL problem is to live life on life's terms, not get ourselves so screwed up in dealing with reality that we turn to alcohol and/or drugs to be able to stand living. Not for everyone
