The best 1950's Sci-Fi ever made...
MGM's rare and early excursion into the 1950's Science Fiction genre set a standard that frankly will never be matched. The special effects are incredible, the acting top notch, the story line engaging with touches of humor and one of the most memorable scores in the history of film. The Blu-Ray showcases all of these highlights and includes many added features including every role that the "star of the movie" Robby the Robot- ever had. Great Blu-Ray Widescreen edition of a dated but excellent 1950s Sci-Fi Classic
Great Blu-Ray Widescreen print of a 67 year old classic! Although this movie is horribly dated now in terms of gender attitudes (a real cringe-inducing product of its time), the production values, special effects, props, character interaction and story were very high quality for its era, and is still quite enjoyable. Classic film.
This is a historically important movie. Gene Roddenberry called it "the first episode of Star Trek." I saw it in the theatre when it first came out. A lot of the actors became big stars. Classic sci-fi film that still feels fresh.
WAY ahead of its time, which is why it's still just as entertaining as any current sci-fi film. That's because it had a very intelligent, cohesive plot and theme. Movie good, great video quality
For the time this has some great color and special effects with great sharpness, Sound this very nice also. Filled with tones of extra's. Says it all. They were warned.
This is the greatest science fiction movie of all times. It has become a cult classic, and could not be reproduced now, even for 300 million USD. Even though some of the original road-show footage has been removed and lost, I was pleased with the quality of the reproduction. ForBidden Planet Blu ray ahead of it's time
