This book I purchased for my mother. I lost my father 3 years ago this coming Feb. 8th and it's been the biggest tragedy for my small family (myself, my older sister, and our beautiful mother). My parents were married for 55 years and neither myself or my sister gave our parents any grandchildren. My mom just can't move past any of this as it is difficult for myself as well. I moved in with my parents (I'm 50 now) the day we received the horrible news that my father had bone and kidney cancer. Anyways, I was just looking to get my mom a book that might be in anyway helpful for her. Then tada, I stumbled upon "A Widow's Guide to Healing" My mom is still reading it as she's taking her time and so far she seems to be quite into it. I'll know more as she continues reading. Thank you for writing this book Kristin Moekhof and I am sorry for your loss as it is never easy. Sincerely, Benay Chankin & mom Brenda Chankin

  • Heartless

The book is devoid is sensitivity. It is a lock-step guide, of sorts, designed to help you get stuff done, like necessary paperwork. Some stuff in this book is downright chilling, and incites fearfullness. Not what new widows need. Will recycle the book, as I do not want another new widow to be subjected to it.

I am a new widow and my husband took care of everything. I was so lost but this book helped me to understand and accomplish what I needed to do.
