The Black Death was no laughing matter. It swept across Europe more than ounce and left massive destruction behind. It also played havoc with peoples minds and emotions. Unscrupulous Priests used it as an excuse to slaughter those not of their flock. And, so did so called "Noblemen".
As a long-time Sean Bean fan (since "Sharpe") and Eddie Redmayne fan (since "Pillars Of The Earth"), I've wanted to see this movie ever since it came out. The trailers did not give away too much of the plot. The story was riveting. The gory scenes were purposeful and brief (as opposed to over the top). While I knew Sean Bean's character would die, the ending was still a surprise.
