Good, but not great....
Russ Freeman's band, the Rippingtons, used to have 6 or 7 guys guys sometimes more. Now Freeman is doing most of it himself by dubbing and programming. He's turned it into a one man band with himself playing several of the instruments, and writing most of the music himself. While I admire his talents, it does not live up to the Rippingtons that I loved before. Some of the cuts on the new album sound very familiar like songs from the past, but the hard driving beat isn't there anymore. ripped by the "rips"
been a huge fan of the rips for many years and have seen them live several times. I own every cd that they have released and I hate to say it, but this is the worst that they have done. I miss the days of jeff k, steve and the rest of what was a great great band, but this new version is not my cup of tea..I expected more and was very disappointed with the writing and performances on this work...Was supposed to see the band live this weekend, but as they always do a lot from new releases, I will pass...Wish they would go back to the old days when their music was a sheer joy to listen to instead of the current version. sadBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
