Product Information

The landscape and the characters all look familiar. This is the opening castle area of Super Mario 64, only with a few DS twists thrown in. Up to four players can link up using the wireless capabilities. Players move familiar characters like Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Wario around the 3-D landscape, exploring and looking for stars. While one screen shows the player's character position, the other provides an overall map of the area. Touch a spot on the screen to pop the camera over to another player's position, or to take a close-up look at the castle. The game has 30 more stars to earn than the original Nintendo 64 game. The Nintendo DS version features several minigame challenges that utilize the touch sensitive screen. Wireless link-up with up to 4 players. Only one copy of the game needed!

      One of the best games ever made, now in your hands

      If you're a retro Nintendo buff like me you will love this. Fond memories of playing this when it came out on the N64 a million years ago are translated into a handheld experience that (whispers) may actually be better than the original... Why? Because it's basically the same game only you get more stars to find, so you get to play it longer. And yes, the controls aren't as responsive (you can only move in 8 directions instead of 360 degrees. But you know what—that only affected about 15 seconds of actual gameplay for me. The rest of the time Mario (and Luigi and Yoshi and Wario: welcome to the 'new' version of this game) feel like they're moving pretty accurately. And the graphics look better than the original because you're seeing them on a smaller screen. In the end, what's not to love? ...

      Amazing game

      Loved this game on the N64, love it just as much on the DS, my little boy loves it too.

      Best

      The game arrived quickly and was in great shape! On top pf that, it had the manual in the right language, even if the sender lived in a different country.

      Nostalgia

      Game even better as I remember it as a child, spent hours looking for hidden areas in the opening castle alone. Imaginative level design and lack of hand holding reminds me why this game is a classic

      Mario kart

      It is Mario kart as you expect the game to be it is fun and on the D's it has a mission mode which makes single player a lot more fun
