As covetous children are often warned: "Be careful what you wish for." It’s this very cautionary wisdom that sets the stage for Henry Selick’s CORALINE, an eerily eye-popping stop-motion animation tale of fractured dreams and families made whole. As the films opens, Coraline Jones (voiced by Dakota Fanning) and her parents (Teri Hatcher, John Hodgman) have moved into the Pink Palace, a once-vibrant boarding house that’s turned drab and dilapidated. As her parents work feverishly on a new gardening catalog, the bored and belligerent Coraline is admonished to explore her new world’s possibilities. Along the way she meets her fellow tenants, including two aging English showgirls and a mouse-training Russian acrobat, as well as an outcast neighborhood boy named Wybie. But it is a mysterious hidden door that most piques Coraline’s interest--a gateway to a parallel world where her "other" parents and neighbors live only to see Coraline well fed and endlessly entertained. All is not cakes and carnivals for Coraline, though, and the black buttons that have replaced the eyes of these otherworldly imitations hint at darker intentions. When these intentions are revealed, Cora and a friendly magical cat use their wits and willpower to defeat Coraline’s wicked "other mother" and restore balance in the real world. Based on Neil Gaiman’s beloved children’s novel, director Selick (THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS) uses the stop-motion technique to bring CORALINE to life with amazing visual and emotional depth. The result is a frightfully magical adventure that will give the whole family plenty to shriek, cheer, and talk about.

My granddaughter and I absolutely, positively love this movie. We can get enough of it. We watch it so many times a week. You just wouldn't believe who much of an influence it has on my granddaughter. It teaches not only her but me and a lot of other kids and grownups. To really appreciate the family and friends you have already in your life. And that's a true saying. Be very careful what you wish for. Because things are not always what they seem to be. Very good lesson. I would advise any parent to buy this movie for their kids.

Very happy!!!
Bought for my daughters birthday. Havent had a chance to watch but disc looks in great condition and it came with four 3D glasses original to the movie. All in great shape. I am very happy.

enchanting
i brought this for my 2 year old grand baby because i have never seen a movie that holds her attention . i watched it myself and i also enjoyed it.

Strange
I gave this as a gift, but watched it first. It’s a great film, but I would not let children under 10 or easily scared watch this. There is a horror movie undertone, but it’s a Tim Burton film so that is kind of expected. This movie is geared more to teens and adults.

Loved the DVD!!
It was in Perfect condition much better than I expected!! Loved the 3D glasses it came with. And love the option of 2D or 3D. My kids loved the movie .

Not my best purchase
This didn’t come with glasses which other people said it did. It didn’t even work with glasses I had gotten.

3-D Made us Queasy
The 3-D made us nauseous, but the movie itself was good.

The disc.
It works fine. But the box was broken and the disc was clunking around in the box. But again, disc still works on both sides.
