Nice looking Seiko but unreliable battery
I have always had Seiko watches, right from when James Bond used to wear them (showing my age) and this one is the best so far. Clear numbers and a day date facility without the hassle of wondering how long the battery will last where solar powered. However, the watch stopped working every night at around 11:50 from the beginning of October and doesn't seem to have enough power to keep going. Works well and should last.
Styling is a matter of personal choice but this is a well made, fairly robust watch that exhibits a high degree of accuracy. Works straight out of the box and being solar powered it should be as close to maintenance free as you can get. The second hand lines up with the minute markers (many don't and that's annoying) and it has a polished bezel with brushed stainless strap lugs. Strap is 20mm wide if you wish to replace it, as I have. The watch is light in weight and sits comfortably on the wrist. Not a slimline watch but not chunky either. Luminosity is very good with hands and hour markers standing out well in darkness. Day and date are a little small, otherwise it's all easy to read at a glance. Quality watch but...
Lovely Seiko quality as expected but I am having real problems with the strap which I find very rough and scratchy on my wrist. I expected a soft webbing but it is more like a rough nylon type material .. it might get better with use but otherwise I'll have to change it.
