The Fly Lady taught me how to have structure and order in my life.
I read this book years ago. The tips and techniques provided brought order from CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) Fly Lady helped me develop a routine and Structure for myself, my children and a bustling house. Now I am an empty nester. I live on a social security disability benefit based on my 1990 income. ( The last year I was well enough to work). I have been continually downsizing from the large houses we lived in when my kids were home, to smaller homes, apartments and now a studio apartment. I got this book to help me distinguish between wants and needs and make a home out of a single room and bathroom. I got an extra copy for a woman I am mentoring who spent 21 years as a housewife raising 7 children. She entered the workforce for the first time recently, is fighting for custody of her youngest four. downsize from a large home to a 2 bedroom apartment she is transforming in to a home for herself and her children. Well worth the read!
An easy read! Helped me get my mind and my house organized in way that relieves the stress of day to day "chores". I love the idea, "you can do anything for 15 minutes". Make sure to get a timer with this book. You will be using it a lot! I think her idea of the "27 fling boogie" is one of my favorites and I will be sharing with everyone! Get rid of the clutter and get your house and your mind in order. You will be having more time on your hands, cleaner house and happier spirit! Everyone should try her techniques!
