Simply crappy...
This item will only work with Windows XP. I used my laptop with Windows 10 and it did not work it downloaded all the drivers and seem to be working fine however the scanner would not work. So if you have an old XP computer this will work pretty well. If you are looking for a high resolution picture don't buy this product. I only had to scan one slide and only have to get it to 5 by 7 and it will work okay. If you aren't wanting to spend a ton of money this is a great scanner for you. Works well, basic but adequate for most purposes
Needing to scan some 500 B/w and color negatives, I decided to try this scanner. On the plus side, this scanner is solidly built, totally quiet in operation, with well-designed negative and mounted-slide holders. It operates reasonably fast (about four scans per minute, at normal resolution). The main weakness is the software driver, which is primitive, and which apparently requires the included ArcSoft software to use the driver. The driver works only with Windows XP (or an emulator). The manual is all but useless and confusing. The procedure is to mount the negative-strip or slides into a holder, then do a "calibrate" scan with the scanner empty (about 15 seconds), then insert the holder till the first image window "clicks" into position, wait about 7 seconds for the scanner to evaluate each negative or slide density, click "Snap Shot" and then "Transfer" (i.e., Scan), which takes about 9 seconds. The software shows only a coarse-grained copy of the image and indicates when a file is being written, but otherwise gives no activity feedback. When you open the driver, the options are fairly clear, except that B/w negatives should be scanned as "Slides," not "Negatives." The "Format" option offers nothing that can be changed. Four levels of scan quality besides "normal" are available, but higher quality scans take much longer. In short: this scanner is capable of very high quality scans, but for normal quality scans it works well enough to make files that will print very well at 5x7 size. Light weighy and it appears that it will be easy to use.
I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but it arrived in very good condition from what I could see when I received it. I am in the process of relocating to Belhaven and am trying to get settled in. I have plenty of negatives that I received when my parents passed, plus many I have collected that my husband and I have taken over the last 75 years or so that I need to check over to decide what to save for our 5 children. Bad Buy
The software was fine. The download was quick and simple. ☺ There was a problem with the USB cable. According to the installation instructions once the cable was inserted the computer would read it and all that was needed was to follow the introductions on the screen for the hardware to be installed. Inexpensive way to digitize slides
Unit was new, well packed and was a great buy. Though made for Windows Vista or XP was able to get it to work on Windows 10 with minimal effort. Manual poorly printed but usable. Gave excellent results on 35mm slides; not easily used for negatives.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Works great
