The series centers around geeky best friends Sasshi and Ayumi, who discover that their local shopping mall is really a magical gateway to a parallel universe. Trapped inside the mall's alternate dimension, the intrepid 12-year-olds battle a cadre of mobsters, magicians, transvestites, space pirates, killer mushrooms, and other fantastical creatures as they struggle to find their way home. Mining the same satiric vein as EXCEL SAGA, the tongue-in-cheek anime kicks off with this first volume of episodes.

I was also surprised to see it came in a plastic packaging sleeve as well. The sleeve was heavily taped and I wanted to double check page count and quality so I did end up having to cut into the plastic sleeve. Everything was as described. The pages looked great and covers looked stunning. If anything, with how it shipped the wavy-ness of the book itself was fixed! 5*s!!!
