The plight of a teenager Goyo coming of age in an immigrant family with a macho father. Well done. Moving at times. Difficult to watch at other times.
The best performance is by Raul Rodriguez in the role of Goyo. He portrays pain and unhappiness being gay in a macho society. No histrionics on his part. But the other actors often overact although those performances do not detract from the story.
The other actor who is a standout is Cirenia Guerrero, the friend to whom Goyo turns for help.
The cinematography is stark but shows what life is like in an immigrant trailer community.
