The folks at popular archivist label Rhino have dug up an exhaustive range of Paul McCartney material for this collection of his video work. The focus here is firmly on McCartney's post-Beatles career, and the combination of rare concert material and more than 40 music videos will be rapturously received by his dedicated fanbase. The material stretches back as far as 1970 and the release of the first McCartney solo record before progressing through Wings-era highlights, which include a rare promo feature for BAND ON THE RUN. More recent material includes a chance to see McCartney and band producing a glorious headline set at 2004's Glastonbury Festival, "Let It Be" from Live Aid, and a 1991 entry into MTV's lauded UNPLUGGED series. With over four hours of material included, and audio commentary provided by the former Beatle himself, this is an essential collection for fans.

    This is a 3 dvd set… disc 2 did not work...

    This is a 3 dvd set… disc 2 did not work at all… could not even load into dvd player… disc 1 mostly worked but froze when trying to view bonus features… as far as I have watched so far, disc 3 seems to work ok.

    Paul McCartney - The McCartney Years

    Anyone who'd be interested in this is presumably a Paul McCartney fan. While his solo career launched in no small part because of that band he used to be in (I forgot their name...), he had an incredibly long and productive career as a solo artist and still creates new music today. I'm biased, but IMO this is a fantastic retrospective collection that has everything a McCartney fan could hope to see and hear. As a bonus, it includes deeper cuts that were ignored by the proliferation of "classic rock" programming that ignores anything beyond a handful of hit songs they use to define artists of a certain age or decade. McCartney is an artist who continues to create music because that's what he does and art isn't limited to whatever sells the most or whatever the current trends happen to ...

    Hidden Gem!

    Haven't been much of a McCartney fan since "Speed of Sound". But this collection is so good that I'm ready to start listening to the more recent albums. And it's mixed in 5.1 surround sound which is a terrific bonus
