    Older stereo with good quality sound and 100 watts / channel, given new life with Chromecast Audio

    This is an older 5.1 stereo. It has a lot of capabilities, most of which I'm not using. The sound quality is good, and with 100 watts per channel RMS, there's enough power to protect my 70 watt speakers. I mainly use this stereo for streaming music to the speakers using a Google Chromecast Audio dongle, and funneling audio from the TV to the speakers via a digital optical cable. The remote is a learning remote that can control my LG TV, but alas, not my Sony Blu-Ray player. I would not count on this remote being able to learn to control some newer TV's, Blu-Ray players, etc. For the manual, search for "RX-V363_U.pdf" and select the link at the usa.yamaha site.

    Complicated Beyond Belief!

    Yamaha is a Great Product. However, this 5.1 surround sound is very complicated to set up. The sound is great, and power if perfect, but it is a nightmare to set up the speaker surround mode for every piece of audio equipment you plug in. I wish it had a preset selection as a "default" for everything. I spent hours trying to set this thing up. I would have rather went with a DJ amp with 4 speakers 2 front and 2 rear like a Pyle. I still never completely got the audio output on ALL front, rear, surround speakers to an acceptable setting. I finally just settled for power on the front only. I am no idiot when it comes to audio set up, but never had this much trouble. My thoughts. Good luck.

    Very Satisfied!

    I had previously purchased the Yamaha RX-V361 for use on my boat and was very satisfied with it; I decided to set up a video surround sound system in my workout room to use when riding the exercise bike. Purchased the Yamaha RX-V363 and hooked it up to a 30" LED TV, DVD player and a Bose surround speaker system. Couldn't be more pleased. The RX-V363 arrived a few days ahead of schedule.
