That’s because Ortofon�s Super OM technology has better linearity, less distortion, and greater separation between the channels (perfect for isolating vocals for use with a DAW, etc). This stylus is the replacement for the Ortofon Super OM 10 stylus. I’s a bonded diamond elliptical stylus.
