Whatever size you order, go up a size or two in order to allow for shrinkage. For example, my hat size is 57-58, so I ordered an XL and it shrank to fit perfectly. I wear mine as a bucket hat too and it sits comfortably. I hope this serves as reference, that an XL is a 58...more or less. I've had these before and they improve with age.
