    The gear is a good replacement for the original, and appears to be working well. As the instructions indicate, and it is well worth reading the instructions completely, the gear is a very tight fit. I press fit it using a vice. Only suggestion is as you have already removed the seat mounting bolts, and disconnected the wiring, it is easiest to simply remove the seat completely and place it on a surface that makes it comfortable to work on. I would not hesitate to reorder from this supplier.

    Fit like a glove it was in all caps on absolutely perfect match. And postage was included? Doubly great. If you got a problem, this is the guy to buy it from, nowhere else. Like the idea was an American made it came with a decent set of instructions. I was nervous as all get out when pressing the gear onto the pin, but it didn’t crack it fit like a glove. I hope I never need to buy another one, but if I did, the seller is on my saved list.

    Reclining seat gear.

    The gears are sized correctly, but the material is not as strong as the original green gears. Time will tell if a 4 hour repair project will last 27 years like the OEM part.

    This fit my 1997 BMW 328i Convertible. It was a perfect fit and very easy install thanks to the provided directions. I have had both gears in both seats for about two weeks with no issues. They are proven good quality. I had a question about this item prior to buying, they answered promptly and accurately. I highly recommend this item for other E36 owners.

    Does the job, for a lot less than some other places.

    It does exactly what it is supposed to, and my seat is back in operation. It is a tight fit, and has to be pressed on, which is not a big deal. No complaints.
