Sonic Rush finds everyone’s favorite hedgehog venturing out from Windmill Village to seven islands spread out along a large map, where plenty of surprises and action-packed adventures await. The fast-paced gameplay fans loved about earlier Sonic games is present here as well as the familiar 2D graphics play out seamlessly over the dual screens. Here, the gameplay is better than ever, with improved action stages and enhanced touchscreen controls. As always, Sonic Rush features the popular hedgehog trying to thwart the plans of an assortment of evildoers by racing through several different levels full of challenging obstacles. In this game, you have the chance to snowboard down an avalanche, springboard off of giant mushrooms, or hang glide across giant gaps. In Sonic Rush, you are playing as Sonic to explore different islands and to find the objects and materials needed to build up to five different shapes. Along the way, you’re faced with a number of different threats while out on the high seas, particularly ruthless pirates who will do whatever it takes to bring you down. Through 14 different stages on both land and sea, you must use Sonic’s speeds and other special skills to withstand their attacks and rush to safety. Welcome back old friends like Tails and Blaze the Cat as they partner with you to complete the different missions in Sonic Rush. As you work to secure the different ships offered, you have more ways of fleeing and defeating the villainous pirates that you may encounter. From a submarine, a water bike, and even a hovercraft, you control these unique vessels using innovative touchscreen technology. Make sure to collect the rings as you journey through the ocean, building up the power you need to bust tricks and torch the enemy ships as you engage in several intense ship-to-ship battles. Experience all the action of Sonic Rush Adventure with a friend by using Nintendo DS Download Play, in which you can complete a couple of different battle plays. You can face off against your friend in exciting dual screen races or rush to be the victor as you both attempt to collect the most items scattered throughout the map in mission battles.     fast paced fun

    Sonic Rush Adventure is a solid sonic game on the DS. It's really fast paced with the boositng mechanic and the trick system, which makes it really fun to play. The only downsides I can think of at the moment are the progression system and the level design. To progress towards more levels you have to grind previous levels to get resources to upgrade your ship to sail to new ones. Which honestly I wouldn't have too much of a problem with it if the level design was better. Levels in this game can feel really good, but a gripe with them that I have is that they tend to place bottomless pits randomly through them. So you'd be boosting around and having fun, then Bam, pit. Other than those this game is a solid title, 8/10

    One of the best on the console

    The forgotten sequel to Sonic Rush, and dang is it good. The controls are great, the levels are fun, and I LOVED the new characters. Also the touchscreen controls weren’t too bad.

    Fun & a rekindle to people with fond memories of sonic's past games

    An entertaining new addition towards the sonic game that has one of my personal favorite characters besides sonic, blaze (wish she could be used more).
