Synopsis
Winner of the 2024 American Legacy Book Award in Autobiography/Memoir The heartwarming sequel to Same Kind of Different As Me! After Miss Debbie's death in 2000, her husband, Ron formed an even stronger bond with Denver, a homeless ex-con. Ron's touching memoir chronicles how their shared devotion to Debbie led them to work toward fulfilling her vision: to ease the pain associated with poverty, homelessness, and inequality. Workin' Our Way Home describes the ten years Ron and Denver lived together after Miss Debbie's death. Written in both Ron's and Denver's unique voices, their inspiring (and often hilarious) adventures include: Their sometimes-bizarre life together in the Murchison Mansion Denver accidentally almost burning the house down--twice The challenges involved with making a movie Two visits to the White House Traveling the country to raise awareness about homelessness And much more! With both wit and wisdom, these pages reveal God's plan lived out through these men and those closest to them, including their passion to fulfill Debbie's dream of mitigating the suffering and humiliation associated with homelessness and inequality. Denver said it best: "Whether we is rich or whether we is poor, or somethin' in between, this earth ain't no final restin' place. So in a way, we is all homeless--ever last one of us--just workin our way home.", "I saw his face." Deborah Hall's words launched the destiny of two men from very different worlds. Ron Hall was an international art dealer with upscale tastes; Denver Moore was a homeless drifter with a dangerous past. Millions have read about their unlikely bond through their first book, Same Kind of Different as Me--a New York Times bestseller and now a major motion picture. I am very impressed by this seller. The books were here in less than a week. The packaging was outstanding and all the books were safe and sound. The price was very fair and I am very pleased with my purchase. I was also very impressed with the Honor books. I taught English to high school students for thirty years and not as current as I wish I had been in regard to these wonderful books. I hope to read as many as possible before my granddaughter can begin. Since she just turned 5 mos. I'm ok.

Seller refused to cancel my order. I placed it at 3 AM and canceled it within 90 seconds. They still got up and denied the cancel and mailed it. The description are not right and regardless of the reviews, this place is a scam. It cost about 10 cents per review through booster company's. You could have 98% seller rating with 3,000 "transactions" for about $300. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM.
