A warm, nearer "vacuum tube" like audio sounding receiver.
The Denon DRA 565R or RD is a warm sounding receiver. In addition to a variable loudness control dial, It also has a loudness switch to further enhance bass and treble at low to normal volume levels. This distinguishes it from higher end, higher wattage, Denon era receivers such as the DRA 635R (which I also own) which lacks a loudness switch for the sake of audio pureness (admittingly the 635R is clearer in the the treble area). A $300 deal for less than $50.00
For the price, it absolutely cannot be beat. The speaker connectors in the back were new to me, but once I knew what I needed to do, it became a non-issue.
